LG Electronics announced on April 2, 2008 that it is partnering with the Sonoma Valley Film Society as the “Official HDTV Sponsor of the 2008 Sonoma Valley Film Festival”. The Festival will run from April 9 to 13. LG will showcase its PG60 Series plasma HDTVs and market it as part of a stylish home theater setting that include the company’s BH200 Blu-ray player, and the LHT799 700W home theater system.

The Samsung 2263DX is an interesting concept! The rather normal 22″ LCD monitor is tagged along by an additional 7″ LCD monitor that has a decent pixel format of 800 x 480.

BenQ claims its V2400W is the world’s slimmest 24″ LCD monitor and says that it is 21% thinner at just 2.44″ than any other. It is about time. I’ve purchased a 24″ LCD monitor before and I must say I was a little surprised to see how porky it was.

Samsung’s LN-T4081F uses a LED backlight instead of the typical CCFL backlight. Now simply using LED instead of CCFL doesn’t do much in terms of performance. So Samsung developed a technology called LED Motion Plus and LED SmartLighting.

Samsung unveiled its T-series LCD monitors at CeBIT 2008. The noteworthy T-series sizes are the 24″ and 26″ versions. Both have a pixel format of 1920 x 1200 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000:1 and a response time of 5ms. You also have the option of adding a DTV tuner. The dynamic contrast ratio is an amazing 20,000:1 with acceptable response times of 5ms.
